According to City of Lies location manager Gregg “Rocky” Brooks, Depp allegedly “punched him in the torso” when he attempted to inform the actor filming was running over the production’s approved on-location hours. The actor’s true-crime drama City of Lies, in which he stars as LAPD detective Russell Poole haunted by the rapper’s unsolved murder, has been pulled from its scheduled release date of September 7 by Global Road Entertainment. Starring Woolard took over the role again in 2017 in All Eyez on Me, a film about Tupac Shakur. It was released in the US on January 16, 2009. The film was written by Reggie Rock Bythewood and Cheo Hodari Coker. Her grandson, Christopher Wallace Jr., who plays his father in the Notorious movie, is also featured.
